About Me
My name is Kumi, the designer and creator of DENIM LIVING. Iโm a mother of two daughters, 2 step daughters to be, and a silly dog. My fiancรฉ and my family are the biggest supporters. Iโve been living in Honolulu, Hawaii for about 20 years and now Hawaii is becoming my home. Iโm originally from Utsunomiya, Tochigi, Japan where strawberries and gyoza (dumplings) are famous.
Most of my career was in fashion retail management, but I have always wanted to have my own brand.
With my fashion design and sewing degree, my longtime dream has come true in 2020. Iโm not a fast sewer, but I pay attention to detail. I love fun and unique, but still wearable designs. I hope you can find something in common with me and have your own DENIM LIVING product one day!
About the brand
DENIM LIVING is a lifestyle brand that offers textile handbags, accessories, and anything that come to Kumiโs mind. We mainly use 100% cotton material such as, but not limited to, denim and canvas. All the products are handcrafted, which takes many hours to complete. With that said, each piece is not exactly the same in sizes and design. Lots of our products are gender neutral, and playful yet practical. Each piece is a one of a kind product you will enjoy having in your daily life. We offer custom made products, denim pants repair/mending, hand embroideries, and many more.
